Free Admission to the Bamboo Circle Celebration of the Seattle Chinese Garden at www.seattlechinesegarden.org.

The Seattle Chinese Garden is extending a free and open invitation to its usual $150- 1,000 annual Bamboo Circle Celebration.

Normally held in the Garden's courtyard to thank mahor donors and encourage new one, the event will take place online in eight (8) short videos over eight (8) nights, from Thursday, August 20-27.

Presentations include:
  • Mimi Chan on the annual cycle of festivals and celebrations;
  • Garden designer Phil Wood and Manager Julian Leung on the Garden’s remarkable collection of tree peonies;
  • Stella Chien talking about her autobiographical book, Poems, Feelings, and Flowers, and about the experience of being a Chinese immigrant to the U.S.;
  • A video tour of Eling Park in Chongqing, our ‘sister park’;
  • The beginnings of the Garden from the guy who first suggested it;
  • Performances by the dazzling Tongliang Fire Dragons and Seattle’s own Face Changer (unbelievable!);
  • An interview with Seattle Colleges Chancellor Shouan Pan and how the Cultural Revolution changed his life; and
  • A final night’s exciting announcement and discussion among key actors and influencers on the future of the Garden.
  • And, of course, there will be opportunities to support the annual operations of this remarkable, privately- funded public garden.

Please share this invitation with friends who might be interested and join the party at www.seattlechinesegarden.org!
